YORKIE TALKIES CHARITY CHRISTMAS BALL 2021

The Yorkie Talkies Walking Group Christmas Ball was a chance to celebrate a year in our membership as it grew, we welcomed new walk leaders, enjoyed adventure days, shared post-work evening walks, and smashed personal challenges.

Hazlewood Castle’s woodland parties seemed the perfect fit for our love of the outdoors. And wasn’t the venue gorgeous? From the welcoming fairy lights in the grounds as I drove into the castle and the magical tent village to the mountain-themed favours and the cool vibe from the jazz band.

As we shared the delicious food and wine, it was so lovely to see everyone chatting and laughing. Toasting another marshmallow in the firepit, I took a moment to appreciate this fantastic group.  It made me hugely proud of the friendly and supportive community that Yorkie Talkies has become.

Deciding on and choosing the recipient of each of our annual awards was one my favorite parts of planning the party. If I could, I would give out hundreds of awards! For laughing through rainy days, motivating others, and facing your fears. Running this group is so inspirational.

I’m thrilled that the event raised a staggering £1185 for Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue.  They are an underfunded service, who we hope we’ll never need, but feel much better knowing they are there. The raffle was truly epic and I hope that those who won enjoy your fab prizes.

There are lots of people who I’d like to thank here.
